Sunny is in her third year coaching at Rise, where she works with both the 17-1s and 16-2s. She is from Ponca City, Oklahoma. She played club volleyball for four years in Wichita, Kansas, and competed at the USAV Girls Junior National Tournament all four years. Sunny went on to play five seasons of NCAA volleyball at Southern Nazarene University as a middle/right side. During her time at SNU, she earned two Great American Conference First Team All-Conference honors as well as two GAC Academic Awards.

Sunny earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2023 and is currently completing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at SNU, graduating in May of 2026. She works as a therapist, which deeply shapes her relational and athlete-centered coaching style. Now in her third year with RISE, Sunny brings both competitive experience and a strong commitment to investing in her athletes not only as players, but as young women. She strives to build meaningful connections with her team, emphasizing growth, confidence, and character both on and off the court. Her favorite part of coaching is getting to know each athlete individually and seeing firsthand their strengths, development, and resilience over time.
