Elyse has been a long time coach for RISE. She spent 2 years as the head coach at Carl Albert High School where she guided them to 2 regional championships and state tournament appearances. She coached 2 All-State players while she was there. Elyse was a standout collegiate player at Southern Nazarene University. She was a setter and then became the team’s libero her senior year. While leading the offense as their setter, she led her team to SNU’s first ever Great American Conference Championship. Her high school career was equally as impressive. Her club team won the 17 National Division at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships. She also had a 2nd place finish at the USAV Beach National Tournament her senior year. She graduated from SNU with a degree in Mathematics and is pursuing a law degree at Oklahoma City University with an interest in immigration law. She is married to Gus Mendoza.
