Victoria (Mendez) Borsatto has been an invaluable member of the RISE Volleyball coaching staff, starting as an assistant coach for the 15.1 team before quickly advancing to lead the 16.1 squad for two successful seasons. She is now entering her second year as head coach of the 17.1 team, marking her fifth year contributing to RISE’s culture of excellence and athlete development.
Victoria’s volleyball journey began in Texas, where she built her foundational skills before committing to Southern Nazarene University in 2019. As a setter under the mentorship of Director Nikki Dieball, she demonstrated leadership, court vision, and competitive spirit. Unfortunately, a career-ending injury during the COVID-19 pandemic shifted her focus from playing to coaching—a transition she embraced wholeheartedly. She took on the role of Graduate Assistant Coach at Southern Nazarene University, where she continues to share her expertise in developing collegiate athletes.
Academically, Victoria is equally driven. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is on track to complete her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology this year, blending her passion for mental health and sports performance to better support her athletes both on and off the court.
Under Victoria’s leadership, the 17.1 team has consistently performed at a high level, finishing 5th in the region with a 33-16 record during the 2024-2025 season and securing multiple top finishes in prestigious tournaments.
Victoria’s coaching philosophy centers on holistic athlete development, emphasizing technical skill, team cohesion, and the importance of becoming a good human. Her ability to connect with players, foster growth, and inspire confidence has made her a cornerstone of the RISE program. As the head coach of the 17s, she is dedicated to helping players navigate their next steps—whether pursuing college volleyball or preparing to close their volleyball chapter—and values walking alongside each athlete through their unique journey.
